Step #7: Place cookies on a baking sheet about 3 inches apart. Bake cookies for about 7 – 8 minutes. You don’t want the edges to get brown or they won’t be as pretty. Watch the cookies carefully.

Step #8: Remove cookies from oven and allow them to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes. Use a heart cookie cutter to cut a heart out of the center of HALF the cookies.

Make sure to have everything you need before starting:

  • Preheat oven and get baking sheets ready.
  • Have all the ingredients measured out and at hand so nothing is forgotten or left out.
  • Mixing bowls, spoons, spatula etc. should be easily accessible as well! And don’t forget your oven mitts.
  • Make sure to have a cooling rack to allow the cookies to cool after baking.

Last but not least, make sure you enjoy yourself during this whole process! It should be something everyone looks forward to doing together as a family or with friends.

Tips and tricks from someone who has been there, done that!

Be sure to let your dough chill for the suggested time. It will make it easier to work with and won’t spread out as much during baking!
